Main Purpose of the role

Working with theProject and Management Teams, providing high quality financial support andadvice to ensure successful contract execution and delivery of financialtargets
Maintenance ofsound financial controls, in line with Philips guidelines, ensuring that allapplicable requirements can be met at all times;

Key Accountabilities:

Project Forecastingand Reporting.

Report projectactual and forecast spend to support the Project Manager (PM) in the financialcontrol and forecasting of their budgets.

Analyse new projectforecasts, developing a view on robustness, timing, risk and opportunity.Review and, if necessary, challenge with PM before submission.
Ensuring all changeis properly incorporated in cost and value, completing tender templates todetermine budgeted cost.

Maintain for eachproject the P&L, balance sheet, order book and cash flow
Working with other partsof the project team as necessary e.g. Commercial, rest of Finance, to prepareproject reporting to the client where required.
If dealing withcost reimbursable contracts, ensure all project audit requirements are dealtwith in a timely and professional manner.

Maintaining andreviewing of the project status reviews including relevant comments to aidmanagement understanding of movements and variances.
Provide meaningfulsupporting commentary where required or necessary.
Act as theindependent conscience of the project ensuring the integrity of the financialstatus and forecast, escalating issues or concerns where necessary.

Accounts Receivable

Manage or supportthe setup, submission and processing of payment applications, certificates andinvoices, including all postings to the ledger.
Conducts monthlyreview of A/R and initial collection efforts on all outstanding invoicespertaining to assigned projects; troubleshoots any issues causing payment to bewithheld.

Asset management

Take ownership forthe cash as well as asset management of the relevant projects – reduceinventory, improve payments terms, work out special financing solutions tofurther improve the cash situation of individual projects in particular withthe long term contract accounting policy.
Provide fullcommercial support for projects including: contractual and costing support forsales and bid teams, ownership for the commercial aspects of the process
Working with theProject teams and others to ensure all deliverables for the Integrated Business

Plans are achieved

Provide assistanceto VP of Finance and Controller in any and all areas as needed.

Process Management

Safeguard thatprocesses / procedures are strictly adhered to.
Focuses onharmonization and implementation of processes and procedures in line withglobal Philips requirements.
Assist withinternal/external audit

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Project Accountantseen as a key partner and team player by Project Manager, Commercial Managerand Finance Team.
  • On budget, on timeproject delivery
  • Ensure individualprojects are maintained in the system and all relevant costs are budgeted foror re-estimates are done and captured in a timely manner.
  • Cash flow planning
  • Compliance toreporting requirements
  • ICS/SOX/auditcompliance
  • Compliance with allelements of Philips processes and application of Philips Finance Policies andFinancial Controls Forecasting accuracy
Education& Experience

Completed Financial Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Essential)
5-8 years’ experience in a similar role.

The ideal candidatewill thrive in a high-paced, challenging environment; possess strongorganizational skill and superior attention to detail. In addition, the abilityto communicate effectively with multiple levels of employees as well asexternal vendors and clients is critical to on-going success.
Intermediate toadvanced Excel skills.
Ability to supportmultiple projects and project Managers
Ability to read andunderstand contracts/proposals for accurate project setup.
In-depth knowledgeof project cost accounting.
