About the job
Job Purpose:To ensure that the finance function across the region operates to the highest professional standards in accordance with both international accounting standards, group policies and local country specific reporting requirements including taxation. To provide financial, commercial and strategic support to the International and local country senior management teams. Manage develop and control logistics procurement and pricing functions across the region including transfer pricing arrangements. Integration and training of new finance teams. Ensure all information requests from the parent company are complied with and submitted within the deadlines provided.
Principal Accountabilities:
Financial Accounts
Implement and maintain effective financial controls within the business across the region and ensure that the company’s financial accounting functions operates to the highest standards and are compliant with international reporting standards, local reporting requirements and group policies. Responsible for the timely completion of the annual audit and taxation requirements in each country of operation. Delivering accurate monthly financial reporting with appropriate analysis and commentary. Ensure all financial and tax audits are completed on time with no audit points.
Internal Controls
The job-holder keeps internal controls under review and ensures that they are adapted when necessary to meet the changing business requirements and that all transactions are properly validated and authorised in accordance with Group Policies. Ensure risk limitation and financial reporting integrity within the business.
System and process Development
The job-holder constantly reviews new and existing systems and procedures to identify potential weaknesses and areas for improvement. Ensure control and consistency of reporting across all business operations and geographies.
Management Information and Budget
Provide timely and accurate management information to all stakeholders. Analyse and develop management information to ensure all critical areas of the business are highlighted. Ensure consistency in reporting and basis of calculation across all businesses. Provide accurate timely and effective framework for all forecast and business planning requirements, including sensitivity analysis.
Treasury Management
The job-holder implements an effective system of funding management that ensures optimum utilisation of the available funds. The job holder keeps abreast of development of treasury management products and hedging strategies (in accordance with Group Policies) to safeguard the operations from adverse effects. The job holder monitors and effectively manages the working capital requirements of the company particularly in relation to inventories, debtors and borrowings. Ensure 12 month rolling direct cash flow statements and bank balances are provide every month for each country of operation.
Commercial Management
The Job-holder actively contributes in the formulation of company’s commercial practice, policies and highlighting the financial implications of proposals under consideration e.g. Inventory Control, Pricing, , Credit Policy, Ordering, transfer pricing, customs duty etc. Provides financial appraisal and analysis to support the decision-making process.
Human Resources Development
The job-holder provides effective leadership to a culturally diverse team of professional staff. Responsible for the selection of competent staff and their on-going motivation. Ensures sufficient manpower resources are in place, and leads staff training and development. Ensures a strong, stable organisation through effective job-rotation and succession planning.
Logistics procurement and pricing
Ensuring compliance with all group policies as well as specific local taxation and customs requirements within each country. Develop and manage the transfer pricing mechanism across the region. Ensure all intercompany reconciliation are completed and balance on a monthly basis.
Skills and experience
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualification: Internationally recognised chartered accountancy qualification. Currently working for a large multinational.
Field of Specialization (if any) : Financial Management, Reporting & Control, Business Analysis, Treasury Management, Investment appraisal, Business Startups, acquisitions and integration.
General skills required for the job: Financials leadership, Team leadership, strong reporting, control and interpersonal skills.
Special skills (if any): Ability to work in an very fast-paced environment with rapidly changing business priorities. Experience in providing financial reporting and control across multiple countries in sometimes challenging environments. Training and integration of finance teams.
EXPERIENCES – required for the job: 10 years post qualification experience in a leading large multinational commercial business. Experience of setting up leading and managing a diverse team over several geographies. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Multiple brand experience, multiple geographical experience.
