The post holder will report to the Claims Manager in the General Department and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Responsibilities
Registering and acknowledging claims from brokers/ agents and direct clients, and calling for claim supporting documents to enable claims to be processed
Dealing with general correspondence on claims
Processing claims and recommending to the Claims Manager settlement or repudiation
Compiling and producing statistical reports for submission to the management for decision making
Minimizing costs on claims by in-house assessment of losses
Reserving and reviewing claim files in consultation with the Claims Manager
Attending to customers and addressing issues raised
Recommending risk improvement measures
Notifying underwriters on any critical underwriting matter that becomes apparent at the claims stage
Key Deliverables
Efficient and Qualitative processing and settlement of claims
Qualification and ExperienceAcademic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University
Computer literacy
Diploma in Insurance
Relevant Experience
A minimum of 1 year experience in claim adjusting in a similar position
Functional Skills
Policy processing
Financial risk identification and management
