As a result of rapid growth we have an excellent opportunity for a business development professional with extensive knowledge of international education to join our Sub-Saharan Africa Region Team.
The role will develop and enhance relationships with our existing and potential customers in East Africa, working closely with the Regional Director Africa (based in Pretoria, South Africa). What you’ll be doing
As Manager, East Africa, you will be supported by and make an effective contribution to the work of the larger regional team for Sub-Saharan Africa. The role will be varied and will include supporting schools with the implementation of Cambridge programmes, such as A Level and IGCSE. You will deliver presentations at events and conferences to promote Cambridge qualifications and services, work with East African schools to understand their development needs. You will be expected to travel within this region on a regular basis.
What we are looking for
You will be a graduate with a least 5 years managerial experience. You will be able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills and the ability to handle a variety of tasks in an effective and timely way. An excellent command of spoken and written English in a business context is essential. Proficiency in other local languages (e.g. Kiswahili.) would be an advantage.
You will, further, be an effective communicator, skilled in building relationships, and have credibility representing Cambridge effectively with school principals, teachers, civil servants and other stakeholders. You will have an excellent knowledge of Cambridge International Examinations, our competitors’ products and of the educational policies of East African countries.
