Kiva Zip is a pilot program, launched by Kiva, at the end of 2011. Whereas in the regular Kiva.org model, Kiva partners with microfinance institutions who administer the microloans on the ground, in
the KivaZip.org model, the 0% interest microloans are sent directly to the borrowers using electronic payment technologies, and lenders and borrowers are able to directly communicate with each other. Kiva Zip Kenya has raised over $1M for more than 7,000 loans since inception.
This position will be based in Nairobi Kenya and reports to the Program Manager. The individual will work towards creating efficient and effective systems that will help Kiva Zip Kenya grow while managing its risk. You should be extremely passionate about your work, and expanding economic opportunity in Kenya, you should also enjoy being part of a close- knit and collaborative team. Be able to get along well with others and genuinely want to help and support others.
Responsibilities
The role includes, but is not limited to:
Risk Management
Conducting due diligence on new trustees
Delinquency management
Relationship Management
Developing, fostering and supporting relationships with trustees, borrowers, lenders and other stakeholders (e.g. through newsletters, organizing networking events etc)
Responsible for customer service, managing CRM system and coming up with protocol/system on how to handle CS issues
Managing volunteers
Field Support: Conducting field visits to support trustees and borrowers
Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Positive presence, great interpersonal skills, business maturity, discretion, excellent oral and written communication skills, proven team player.
Ability to take calls at night on occasion (i.e. once per week) to communicate with Kiva’s HQ in San Francisco.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business required
Minimum of 2 years of previous professional experience in Microfinance, community development, international development or relationship management
Should have local working experience
Proficiency in Swahili is mandatory
Strong computer skills including Google applications, Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and other commonly used software/web applications
