Job Title: Marketing Executive – Cable Acquisition
Department: Commercial / Marketing
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Employment Status / Type: Full-time
Position Reporting to: Head of Marketing
Manages Others: Yes
Titles & Number of Positions Managed: One Intern
Job Purpose / Summary: to initiate, develop and implement quarterly marketing campaigns to drive sales above & below the line using all media in collaboration with the Direct Sales force, Telesales and Zuku Shops/outlets
Accountabilities
Growth of subscriber numbers and market penetration in line with budget
Duties and Responsibilities
Support Head of Cable Marketing in the Development of the marketing strategy and lead in the development of the marketing activities and specific campaigns for the cable platform
Carry out competitive market analysis contributing to strategy development
Work with research as well as the sales team to understand Zuku customers
Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, market dynamics and competitive assessments
Assist in the development of the pricing strategy for the cable platform
Monitor market trends and customer needs in order to determine when new products or services should be introduced
Implementation of marketing Campaigns for the cable platform
Actively take part in the development of marketing campaigns for the cable platform aimed at customer acquisition, growth of market share and improved brand equity
Execute / implement the plans that have been agreed upon
Lead in the briefing of the creative, media agencies for execution of cable marketing activities
Work with promotion agencies in order to develop campaigns that will help promote our products and attract new customers
Generate ideas and initiatives that capitalize on existing and prospective customers and generate leads for Telesales
Actively review and monitor competitor product offerings with a view to ensuring Zuku products have a competitive edge and feed back to the respective Product Managers
Monitor the performance of different products and advise accordingly
Implementation of the media strategy
Execute the media strategy within the relevant media channels with a focus on targeted marketing
Trade support
Work with the trade marketing team to ensure campaigns are implemented through the line, specifically to support our sales partners
Participate in training the cable sales team and channel partners
Regular trade visits to attain feedback and Intel on sales promotions and brand awareness
Relationship management
Build strong relationships with agencies including the digital agency for marketing but also work with other agencies/managers as necessary in execution of mandate (creative, media, PR)
Monitoring and Evaluation
Prepare monthly reports of budget Vs. spend for marketing spend on cable activities, recommending areas for improvement
Understand the business:
Customer understanding
Actively participate in briefing research requirements as well as debriefs
Analyze research data, including feedback from the retail chain and customer care in order to recommend corrective actions and lead in their execution
Retail chain understanding

Product understanding
Minimum Qualifications:
An under-graduated degree from a well-recognized university with bias to a consumer business related field.
Skills and Abilities
Minimum of 2 years marketing / agency experience, preferably in a fast paced environment
Proven track record of analytical skills and diagnostic ability
Passionate, highly self – motivated, energetic and enthusiastic team player who is change oriented and customer focused
Demonstrate an ability to build and manage relationships and influence various stakeholders
Results oriented and an excellent communicator both orally and in writing
The position offers several degrees of challenge and as such the potential candidate must thrive on challenge
Industry knowledge: must understand the ICT Broadnand and and Pay-TV sector
