Head of Sales & Marketing Job in Kenya

FMCG Head of Sales & Marketing

We are currently searching for a Head of Sales & Marketing to take up the position right away.

The deliverables for this position will be to effectively drive the Sales and Marketing activities of the Business with focus on export and local distribution functions.

Overview of the position and key responsibilities;

Sales
Drive the Sales and Marketing campaigns and activities of the sales department to enhance sales volumes and execute these within approved budgets and guidelines.
Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential retail and export customers, soliciting new customers, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations on products and services.
Monitor the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the sales team to ensure that targets are achieved and the market potential is realized.
Oversee export Sales and local distribution functions.
Plan and coordinate the sales activities of the team and guide them to ensure Company objectives are met.
Review daily, weekly and monthly sales reports prepared by the sales team, take necessary action where there are deficiencies.
Analyze sales volumes by products and margins achieved on each, make recommendations to the management on which products to focus on and where changes are required.
To maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the variety of products and services offered by the company.
Set goals for market share and growth.

Marketing
Overall responsibility for Brand Management and Corporate Identity
Developing the marketing strategy for the company in line with Corporate Strategy.
Co-ordinate marketing campaigns with sales activities, planning and implementing promotional campaigns.
Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.
Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities to promote products & services; work with advertising or promotion agencies to realize Brand and Marketing objectives.
Manage and improve lead generation campaigns, measuring results, identify, develop and evaluate Marketing strategy, Marketing objectives and Market characteristics.
Responsible for the marketing of company products and services to the right market whether B2B or B2C.
Develop and implement a company-wide plan to push product, working with all departments for its execution.
Identify and analyze an organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and respond to opportunities and threats in the marketing environment.
Develop and implement appropriate strategies by selecting, segmenting and targeting markets, and promoting the company’s products and services to those markets.
Develop plans for advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling and sales management

Desired Background, Skills and Experience
A Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Marketing or Business Management.
Over 10 years of Local and International Selling experience in a similar position with an FMCG company.
Exposure to local and international export market.
Extensive experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing strategies to meet company objectives.
A dynamic, results oriented and creative thinker.
Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and often under pressure.
Ability to take initiative and be pro-active.
Strong and capable leader to drive Sales.
Ability to build trust, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
