The Opportunity
This Position reports to the IT Manager.
Role Purpose
Application specific support, enhancements, maintenance and optimization
Investigate and resolve any configuration/security related issues from various application owners
Investigate, understand database patch rollouts etc.
Build a close working relationship with all IT stakeholders
Some Key Deliverables Include
- Cluster State Management and other Disk Integrity and Data preservation methods.
- Data archiving.
- Installation and configuration of SQL and Oracle databases.
- Implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and costs.
- Improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
- Database migration.
- Developing, implementing, and periodically testing backup and recovery plan for the database.
- Backup monitoring, Perform Database restore.
- Recommend disaster recovery approaches for applications.
- Setting up user accounts to control logins to the database, Authorization of account permissions on various parts of the database.
- Auditing and administering the logins.
- Unlock, and reset database accounts/passwords.
- Database management and monitoring for availability, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and tune database objects.
- Troubleshoot Infrastructure issues related to database server such as memory, CPU, I/O, Disk, etc.
- Should hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer science, or computer related field
The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as DBA. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience on Database Access Management as well. The candidate also should have extensive knowledge on databases like MySQL and Oracle. The candidate should have expert ability to debug and resolve database issues – application specific, security and configurationSkills & Abilities
