NGO Jobs in Kenya:Action Africa Help International Grants Finance Manager


Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Grants Finance Manager.
Location: HQ, Nairobi, with frequent travel to the field
The Grants Finance Manager will provide bridge between programs and finance by providing leadership and direction for programs performance; coordinates the implementation of grant awards and ensures post-award compliance; compiles financial and non-financial data for the preparation of internal reports, compliance reports, and grants donor billings.

The Grants Finance Manager reports to Finance and Administration Director and liaise with the Finance Manager, and the Country Finance Managers to prepare periodic financial reports as required.

About Action Africa Help International: Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, regional organisation, working in East and Southern Africa to improve the lives of livelihood-challenged communities.
AAH-I has country programmes in Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia. It brings over 20 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities.
More recently, it has expanded its activities to work with other marginalised communities, including pastoralist communities and communities in urban slums.

Personal Specifications

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Finance and Grants Management
  • 4 years’ experience in Finance and Grants Management;
  • Experience in writing and reviewing financial reports. Experience in an international NGO will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competence
  • Good understanding of humanitarian aid and development programming;
  • Good financial management and budgeting skills. More than 4 years is preferred
  • Ability to analyze the synthesize information
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of a diverse team
  • Self-motivated, flexible and adaptive to the needs of the team and organization.
