Climate Change Business Advisor Job in Kenya


 Position: Business Advisor – Climate Change

Reports To: Program Manager, Climate Change

Purpose: To implement renewable energy solutions in Tunza facilities by identifying and recruiting
them through: assessing their energy status, recommending suitable solutions, linking them with the financing mechanism – Climate Change (CC) Revolving Fund, and continuously tracking to ensure loans are used for intended purposes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Hold periodic sensitization meetings to introduce and recruit health providers to the Climate Change Project;
  • Assess the energy status of Tunza facilities and advise on suitable solutions towards using renewable energy solutions
  • In collaboration with a renewable energy solutions partner, market and promote renewable energy product offerings to Tunza facilities
  • Advise Tunza facilities on financing options available for purchase of renewable energy products and link them with the appointed financial partner
  • In consultation with providers, assist facilities that qualify for CC Revolving Fund loans to complete the necessary application forms in line with appointed financier’s requirements.
  • Prepare appropriate business documents for eligible facilities to enable them access the laons from the revolving fund.
  • Continuously monitor borrowing facilities to ensure loan repayment compliance and loans are being used for the intended reasons.
  • Proactively manage the relationships with between PS Kenya with private health providers, appointed CC Revolving Fund financier, and the organization providing the renewable energy solutions
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing other data of Tunza providers as necessary – not necessarily linked to the Climate Change program
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of all required reports as per defined timelines.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Uptake of renewable energy solutions by Tunza providers
  • Access of Tunza providers to the Climate Change Revolving Fund.
  • Notable decrease in power outages in participating Tunza facilities.
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field, Marketing and Sales.

Professional Qualifications: Diploma in Project Management or Business Management or Marketing is an added advantage

Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in Health Systems Strengthening
