Business Development Manager

Job Overview: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for accelerating the business by identifying and managing partnerships and acquisitions, market / competitor analysis, and company strategic concept development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy across the portfolio;
- Provide technical advice to the overall organization’s strategy and operations;
- Develop, implement, and monitor the sales and marketing strategy;
- Conduct constant market and competitor analysis focusing on changes in business models, trends or customer behavior;
- Identify, evaluate and manage local partnerships and acquisition targets;
- Manage local Business Development activities and lead local management of initiatives;
- Develop negotiation strategies and contract engagements in cooperation with the other departments;
- Work closely with other teams, such as marketing, contracts and scientific teams, to identify new business opportunities for product development;
- Establish and maintain customer relationships through meetings and events, such as tradeshows or conferences;
- Lead account planning meetings with key account managers;
- Establish and maintain business partnerships in the agrochemicals and agricultural inputs industry;
- Perform any other duties as may be allocated by management from time to time;
- Bachelor’s degree chemistry, bio chemistry, agriculture, agribusiness, environment management or related area;
- A Diploma or post graduate qualification in Sales and marketing from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
- 3 or more years of experience in an agrochemical or agriculture-related business environment;
- Proven analytical, leadership, communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage and solve problems cross-functionally in a large matrix organization;
- Proven track record, in business development/sales as well as the ability to work independently, and pick up technical details quickly;
- Experience in the agriculture, agritech or environmental sectors are preferred;
- Strategic thinker who takes delight in tapping into new fields without established routines and processes;
- Ability to work independently with an entrepreneurial mindset;
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal, and communication skills and the willingness and ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to interact with, support, and build relationships with all levels of management;
- Results oriented, strong goal orientation individual who thrives working in fast paced environments;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain multi-cultural business relationships.
