Senior Manager – Innovation
Reporting to the Head of Department – Innovation, the successful candidate will oversee and manage the development/enhancement of products and services though the approved gate process. To identify Strategic Partnerships that will result in Innovations. To collate and present a Global Innovation roadmap & liaise with IT on Garage deliverables. Collaborate with other Divisions to structure a periodic review of strategic assets, Global Trends,Emerging Technologies & Competitor Intelligence as well as understand Consumer Behaviour and Needs (BI/BA/Market Research) that will form input into Innovation/Product Development.

Job Responsibilities
- Define strategic innovation partnerships and relationships to achieve Mature and BlueSky
- Develop the Global Innovation roadmap.
- Review and update quarterly the Global innovation roadmap,identify synergies and align accordingly in line with the business needs.
- Ensure planned projects are delivered in a timely manner through the approved gate process.
- Document and ensure approval of the Product & Innovation description and business case(Business requirements).
- Ensure that projects expenditures are within the approved CAPEX and liaise with Technology to ensure timely delivery of Garage deliverables.
- Define and structure the framework of Leveraging Resources /Strategic Assets (Technology Nodes and Touchpoints – Call Centre, Shops, EBU Partners), Global Trends,Emerging Technologies & Competitor Intelligence as well as understand Consumer Behaviour and Needs (BI/BA/Market Research to develop innovative products
- Undertake post-launch reviews (G4) of all products and services within the Innovation portfolio to assess actual market take-up against anticipated take-up as presented in the Business Case 3 months after product launch
- Proactively review customer’s feedback on products and services within the Innovation Products Portfolio and follow up to ensure closure.

- Conduct quarterly product rationalization by Reviewing how each product is performing against the Corporate KPIs
- Recommend products that require to be discontinued or enhanced
- Preparation of reports as required
- Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or a Technical field – Engineering or Information Technology from a recognized university.
- At least 5 years work experience in the Telecoms/ICT space or FMCG. This is expected to include: 3 years in product development/Project management in a telecommunications environment, 2 of which should be at line management or senior engineer level.
- Experience in managing multiple projects (6 – 12 month duration) simultaneously from start to finish, which have impact across a company, customers and on the revenue generation capability of the organization;
- Good understanding of regulatory framework for mobile operations particularly in the Kenyan environment;
- Excellent project management skills;
- A highly motivated person with a positive attitude towards work;
- Innovative,creative, results oriented with excellent analytical skills;
- Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to details;
- Self-driven, results oriented and an ability to work without supervision.
- Good communication skills & Excellent reporting skills;
- Have a positive approach to ensuring complete customer satisfaction & high standard service delivery;
