VACANCY
Job Title: Head of GDBS, Africa Regional Markets (ARM)

Reporting to: GDBS Director for Europe and Africa

Position Type: Permanent
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (or any other location in Africa)

CONTEXT/SCOPE
The Africa Regional Markets business unit comprises of the following sub markets Ghana, Cameroon, Partner Markets and Indian Ocean, Southern Africa Emerging Markets, Angola and Ethiopia. Africa Regional Markets and covers 43 Countries in Sub Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean.
The Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) function within Diageo delivers business and IS services that enable our business and our markets to focus on commercial excellence.
The role will focus on driving value, service excellence and brilliant user experience by leveraging the GDBS organisation to deliver against the following goals:
* Drive competitive advantage in the market / Hub
* Deliver efficient and compliant services
* Provide a brilliant customer experience

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Deliver efficient and reliable services

Responsibility for Stakeholder management at a Exec level in ARM and the submarkets. Understand and shape demand from ARM and the sub markets. Manage the quality of GDBS Services to ensure they align with the performance promise.
Work with the Global Architecture and Operations Team to introduce solutions that drive NSV growth, operating profit, and productivity and efficiency gains.

Financial Management

Ownership of the GBP 7.5m in operating budget and GBP 5.2m in Portfolio budget – ensuring that all Risks and Opportunities are identified and managed appropriately.
Correctly prioritise the GDBS project portfolio for ARM an drive cost savings by leveraging local and global Vendor relationships
Work with market SDMs to manage the business as usual budget to deliver agreed savings while delivering or surpassing agreed standards and SLA’s
Work with the market SDMs to engage the different finance teams (GDBS, market, ABSC) to ensure accurate and timely reporting of spend.

Strategy and Business Relationship

Ensure the development, communication and implementation of the GDBS strategy for ARM in alignment with the business objectives.
Constantly gather feedback from the markets through structured and informal sessions with Stakeholders. Use insights gathered from these sessions to develop and drive actionable plans that increase employee satisfaction.
Work with the central GDBS teams to deliver world class performance.

Compliance & Controls

Work with SDMs to ensure delivery of satisfactory compliance and controls environment

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
10+ years IT management in a multinational Organisation.
Strong people management skills with ability to manage remote teams
Ability to communicate clearly and influence using multiple communication channels to a broad spectrum of Senior Stakeholders
Demonstrate strong strategic thinking ability
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain good stakeholder relationships with persuasive communication
