Job Summary
  • Preparation of Project Management Plan and of detailed Project implementation schedule together with expenditure schedule by Contract.
  • Coordination with the home office Project Director and Coordinator, all contractual and administrative activities.
  • Coordination with the Home Office Coordinator, Design Engineers (Substation, Protection & Control, Communication, Transmission Line and Civil) and Transformer Specialist of all engineering activities.
  • Coordination of on-the-job training.
  • Administration of all works and supplies of goods contracts.
  • Liaison with all contractors and the Client to insure that construction schedules are completed within the time set.
  • Assistthe Clientin settling of any disputes or differences with contractors.
  • Establishment of contract billing procedures; verification and certification of all billing before submission tothe Client’s Project Coordinator.
  • Daily and weekly coordination withthe Clientand Contractors of all engineering, procurement and field activities.
  • Daily and weekly planning of all local staff activities.
  • Weekly and monthly follow-up of each contractor’s progress of work and preparation of related reports.
  • Preparation of Quarterly Reports.
  • Meetings withthe Clientand Contractors with remote participation of home office staff to ensure the progress of execution works at field and good coordination between participants.
  • Follow-up of factory and site tests.
  • Issue of completion and operational acceptance certificates
  • Preparation of the Completion Reports.
  • Establish and maintain a contract management system which includes a system to manage correspondence Monitor contractual obligations for AECOM and the Client and flag the Project Director in time if any actions are required.
  • Assist the Contractor to compile a detailed schedule in MSProjects or Primavera in order to manage the outputs of the Contractor daily.

Able to work alone and with Team in any African country
Can speak, read and write the English language fluently.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must have minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in substation projects, 5 years of which as project management and construction supervision.
  • Must have a minimum experience of working on three (3) similar nature of project (substation rehabilitation and upgrading).
Preferred Qualifications
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
