About the Business Line Energy

We address the complete spectrum of energy challenges, including clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency and carbon management, hydropower and dams, thermal, geothermal and wind power generation, and transmission and distribution.

Job Summary
  • Plan and provide clear direction to the sub-Contractors of activities to be completed on a daily basis.
  • Technically guide the sub-Contractors on site
  • Perform soil appraisals and compare to the geotechnical data . Request for further investigation where necessary
  • Review stub and rebar setting Supervise rebar preparation, concrete batching, casting to fulfill standard requirements.
  • Perform quality checks on all construction
  • Perform safety review of all construction activities and report all unsafe acts and incidents
  • Act as safety custodian for AECOM
  • Monitor progress and report to RPM
  • Ensure Environmental compliance on site and report challenges to key personnel
  • Deal with community challenges / local contractors / local tribes / elders
  • To live on site
  • Evaluate material quality
Personal attributes, qualities or competencies needed for the role:
  • Team player
  • Self-starter
  • Able to work alone and with Team in any African country
  • Can speak, read and write English language fluently
Minimum Requirements
  • Must have minimum of seven (5) years’ experience in transmission line or related projects.
  • Experience in 400kV steel lattice line
  • Experience in line and substation construction standards and techniques i.e. full tension stringing, tower erection, foundations, steel erection, equipment erection, etc.
  • Must have a solid understanding of safety for T&D projects
  • Must have a strong character, attitude and approach
  • Must be able to work alone and without supervision

Preferred Qualifications B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or an Electrical Technician from a recognized institution.
