In this role you will support in the development planning and implementation of all marketing activity (online and offline channels),social media, FFP, CRS and PR. So as to drive revenue and grow loyalty of all QR products from all distribution channels and targeted audiences as defined in the sub region portfolio under the supervision of the Regional Office Marketing and Manager-Eastern and Southern Africa. You will cascade the corporate marketing policies and strategies to the region and local markets within the region & ensure continuous professionalisation of the marketing function.

Accountabilities:

Operational:

You will be responsible for defining and executing a multi-channel marketing strategy to deliver growth by identifying and targeting new customers and maximising existing customer relationships .Define and implement a cohesive brand strategy across the entirety of the sub-region, assuming the role of brand guardian and driving appropriate engagement with the customers in all forms of communications. You will be responsible in overseeing all aspects of the marketing function both offline and online channels and ensure approvals are obtained from regional office. You will develop the direct sales distribution channel for the sub-region,with the objective of delivering the regional directs sales revenue target and strategically growing direct revenues as per a proportion of total revenue through qatarairways.com.

In this role you be required to develop, implement and control integral Marketing plans contributing to the commercial results of the region, evaluates all potential market opportunities and threats and provides recommendations. You will work with all stations in the region to help build the Qatar Airways brand and maintain brand consistency on all communications as well as deployment of agreed marketing communication strategies as part of the marketing strategy.

You will ensure Loyalty program and e-commerce strategies are deployed according to agreed and orchestrated marketing strategies, monitor return on investment for each activity (on total QR marketing budget) and review marketing plans.

Management & Leadership:

You will support sub region management and Regional Marketing Manager to implement a program of tactical marketing initiatives(advertising,events,exhibitions,sponsorship,social media, online and not limited to) that will support the brand development and achieve revenue targets for QR.

You must be a Kenyan national /or have the right to live and work in Kenya.

This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.

To be successful in this role you must hold a University Degree or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing and executing international marketing strategies and campaigns. Travel industry experience or prior airline experience a definite advantage together with experience in an online marketing agency or e-commerce industry.

You should have good numerical skills to analyse performance and calculate return on investments, strong project management, leadership, analysis & planning skills are also required. You will need a good understanding of broad marketing concepts, demonstrated ability in using different marketing techniques, E-commerce skills gained with an online retailer or online marketing agency, demonstrated best practices for online sales promotions, ad creative and performance based marketing deals, Eye for details and knowledge of best practice web designs (ad creative, online sales promotions, microsites).

Prior experience in an multinational company is an added advantage as well as exposure and understanding of East and Southern African travel Market. Fluency in English to a management presentation level is essential.
