Technical Advisor – Workforce Development and Livelihoods
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Position Summary: The Technical Advisor – Workforce Development and Livelihoods will work collaboratively with the key stakeholders to design and implement workforce development and demand-driven livelihoods interventions for youth and their households.
This position requires comprehensive understanding of and experience in the areas of market systems development, livelihoods, and skills development, with strong capacity building skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, International Development, Economics, Agriculture, or related field. Or Bachelor’s and equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing market systems or livelihoods programming; preference given to a candidate who has demonstrated experience in economic sectors important for youth employment in Kenya (e.g. agribusiness, retail, construction, etc.).
- Experience in projects promoting agriculture and livelihood interventions, preferably in Kenya.
- Familiarity and understanding of USAID policies and procedures (highly preferred), or those of other donors, donor funded projects, community-based projects, or corporate social responsibility projects.
- Proven abilities to set priorities, to multitask, and to work collaboratively across technical disciplines.
- Possess outstanding professional reputation and have strong demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills in English required, Kiswahili preferred.
- Experience and demonstrated knowledge of workforce development and livelihoods best practices.
- Knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of workforce development programs.
- Ability to organize systems to monitor results.
