Making All Voices Count is an international initiative working towards effective governance and accountability in 12 countries in Africa and Asia.
The post-holder will provide leadership in the Grants Team and ensure high quality contracting and end-end grants administration.
The role includes overseeing the entire grants contracting process, coordinating tracking and monitoring of grant data and metrics; supervising staff, and ensuring grantee compliance and support within the entire grant process.
The Grants Manager shall act as Making All Voices Count’s expert for all aspects of the grant making process including all grant administration policies, systems, and documentation to ensure compliance, incorporate best practices, and ensure excellent controls.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees both pre- and post-contracting activity for Making All Voices Count.
  • Supervises and supports Grants Team in carrying out program and accountability assessments
  • Ensure effective post contract grant management including collection and assessment of reports, follow up and communication with grantees; ensure scheduled payments to grantees, and liaising with Country Engagement
  • Developers to ensure seamless grantee management and communication.
  • Managing, reviewing and ensuring grant processes are in line with Making All Voices Count needs and promote effective grant making.
  • Ensure grant administration policies and processes are responsive to Making All Voices Count needs, and adapt as needed.
  • Identifies and resolves compliance issues related to donor and Making All Voices Count contractual obligations and standards
  • Tracks Making All Voices Count grant compliance and brings instances of non-compliance to the attention of the Country Programmes Manager.
  • Carry out grant portfolio reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Carry out grants and financial data reconciliation and preparation for reports, audits and other Making All Voices Count reporting as needed.
  • Oversees and maintains systems to track grant metrics in line with Making All Voices Count reporting requirements and Programme needs.
  • Develops and prepares operational reports for grant management for Country Programmes Manager and Project Director
  • Administers Making All Voices Count policies and procedures in accordance with country and organizational guidelines.
  • Monitors and tracks changes in regulations and their effect on grant making in countries Making All Voices Count works in.
Qualifications and Experience for Grant Manager Jobs in Kenya
  • Academic background (Master’s level) or similar in international business administration or international communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Knowledge of and affinity with technology for development, democratization processes, civil society and transparency and accountability.
  • Administrative project management skills
  • Excellent ICT skills ( Microsoft Office and database)
  • Pro-active and result based working style

  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to Grants Team and FMC staff.
