Our client, an international NGO in quality reproductive health care and family planning wishes to
recruit a CIFF Consortium Project Coordinator to reposition family planning access and options for girls in Kenya, through broadening the method mix, making more effective long-acting methods routinely accessible and addressing barriers to uptake.
He/She will be working in conjunction with the Ministry of Health.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the CIFF project as implemented by the consortium of partners (UNFPA, IPAS) under guidance of the Ministry of Health through the Reproductive and Maternal Health Services Unit.
  • Providing technical support in partner mapping and maintaining a database of adolescent/youth sexual and reproductive health (A/YSRH) partners in the country
  • Providing technical support to the Ministry of Health and CIFF consortium partners in implementation, monitoring and supervision of project activities at the National level and in the supported counties by the consortium members.
  • Consolidating reports from Consortium partners and sharing with the Consortium Project Management Team for review before final submission to CIFF;
  • Coordinating monthly/quarterly Consortium Project Management Team meetings; disseminating and following-up on meeting action points
  • Coordinating quarterly steering committee meetings
  • Facilitating and ensuring regular monitoring, supervision and continuous internal evaluation of project activities
  • Supporting the preparation of annual work plans with Consortium partners to ensure timely submission of work-plans and budgets, reports and other relevant documents, release of project funds and effective implementation of the project activities.
  • Supporting specific A/YSRH Consortium partner advocacy activities or initiatives at county and national level including engaging other relevant partners.
  • Participate in the formulation of various reproductive health policy and program documents for the referenced ministries and Non-Governmental Organizations.
  • Representing the Consortium and participating in relevant MoH technical working groups, relevant meetings and events relating to A/YSRH.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the dissemination of relevant information and knowledge among the Consortium
  • Collaborate with other institutions and organizations in the sharing of experiences and lessons learned;
  • Facilitate the documentation and knowledge sharing on current and emerging trends in ASRH/HIV&AIDS and gender issues, by analyzing programmes, projects, strategies, approaches and ongoing experience for lessons learned, best practices, and sharing with management for use in knowledge sharing and planning future strategies.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Masters degree in social sciences, public health and/or other related fields.
  • Post graduate qualification in social sciences, health systems management, monitoring & evaluation or other relevant degree is highly desirable.
  • Minimum professional experience of 5 years, preferably in adolescent/youth sexual and reproductive health programme/project management in the public or private sector.
  • Proven experience of working in a partnership environment
  • Understanding of, and ability to, develop work plans, write and edit reports
  • Ability to design, implement and monitor effective project management performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organise and present information in a compelling way
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and creative problem thinking skills
  • Conceptual innovation in the provision of technical expertise
  • Leveraging the resources of national governments and partners, and building strategic alliances and partnerships
  • Fluent in English language
  • Proficient in current office software applications
