Agri-business Company Operations Assistant

Our client is a small yet gradually growing Agri-business Company involved in the production, whole sale supply and retailing of assorted vegetables for the local market.
Based in Nairobi, Nakuru and Kitengela, they currently wish to fill the following position;Operations Assistant (Mostly Working in Kitengela)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager, The ideal candidate will be expected to diligently carry out the following;
  • Providing administrative support along with clerical tasks that aid the daily business operations of the organization
  • Be proactive and participatory in the development and execution of new initiatives.
  • Be capable of coordinating marketing programs and outreach activities
  • Be capable of resolving customer issues, filling orders, and inspecting merchandise.
  • Be ready to travel at short notice
  • Must be ready to physically handle fresh farm produce and access the local vegetable markets for research or collaboration
  • May also help with office and employee management
  • He/She may be assigned tasks such as ordering supplies and preparing sales reports. He or She may also help train employees and perform some bookkeeping duties. Throughout their work, they should be able to provide upper management with insights to further increase productivity.
  • Maintaining supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating requirements; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items; delivering supplies to designated recipients
  • Must be a team player with leadership potential
  • Be accountable for all responsibility areas entrusted to him/her
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Diploma preferably in business or related studies e.g marketing / Accounting
  • Computer Literacy is a must (Word, Presentations, spreadsheets and databases)
  • Excellent planning and report writing skills
  • Telephone and typing skills
  • Verbal and written business communication skills
  • Dependability and integrity is a must
  • Having a keen eye for attention to detail
  • Aged between 24 – 35 years
  • Must be flexible, patient, tolerant and outgoing
  • Having a valid driving license with 2 years verifiable experience is an added advantage
  • Residing within Kitengela is an added advantage
