World Concern
Transformational Development Specialist positionRole: To enable development of the transformational development program strategy in World Concern Africa and train key staff as effective agents of transformation.
Location: Nairobi-Kenya with frequent travel to S. Sudan, Chad & Somaliland.
Goals:
1. Shaping World Concern’s integrated strategy and foundational prototype tools (operational manuals, curricula, monitoring, evaluation and reporting methods) for transformational development,
2. Adapting strategy and tools to focus countries in Africa using World Concern’s One Village Transformed approach,
3. Integrating appropriate approaches to Biblical witness and reflection of World Concern’s core values in daily work,
4. Training field staff in participatory education,
5. Nurturing community of transformational practice customized with each country context
6. Maintaining professional growth by actively participating in formal and informal professional and practice groups.
Qualifications:
1. Christian Commitment:
Agrees & supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith;
Strong demonstrated & practical integration of Biblical teaching in work and life;
Demonstrated ability to work with people of other faith;
Willingness to commit minimum of two years.
2. Education:
Master’s degree in a field related to international work
Candidates with Bachelor’s degree and strong record of relevant work experience will also be considered.
3. Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience working / extensively consulting in community-based projects in Africa;
- Demonstrated success in procuring & supporting project grants;
- Demonstrated success in training cross-culturally using participatory methodologies;
- Strong English writing/ spoken skills;
- Strong interpersonal and crosscultural communication skills.
- This is a deputized position and requires the individuals to raise their own financial support.
