Role Title: Business Development & Service Manager

Reports to: Account Director, Retail & Shopper-Research and Insights

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Purpose of the Role:
  • Work closely with Account Director to develop new revenue streams
  • Develop new tools e.g. shopper offer
  • Engage more with existing clients for more business
  • Pursue new clients
  • Annual revenue targets are met by the identification of opportunities to sell more TNS panel products and services i.e incremental revenue from existing clients and pitching to new clients
  • Responsible for ensuring Retail & Shopper clients are satisfied with the deliverables and servicing provided by the client service team from week to week
  • Providing strategic & relevant marketing insights to clients through storytelling and emphasizing applicability of Retail & Shopper data
  • Managing teams effectively wherever applicable.
  • Client lead for full service projects and key client contact for complex projects
Role Deliverables:
  • Development of client relationships:
  • Maintain and nurture client relationships
  • Develop new business from existing clients
  • Good understanding of client business and market
  • Manage and promote delivery to client expectations
Financial management:
  • Accountable for managing projects and team to drive positive GM and profit
  • Pricing for success and profit
  • Works with internal and external clients to identify cost effective solutions
  • Proposal process:
  • Accountable for creation and integrity of proposal and pitch (focus on benefits)
  • Responsible for turning complex research approaches into workable & profitable solutions
Analysis/reporting:
  • Generate insight and recommendations that demonstrate knowledge of client’s world and are based on client need
  • Design & facilitate insight generation & creative concept development (Ideas Architects).
  • Analyse data patterns in detail to understand significance and identify appropriate action (Quality Assurance)
Leadership, team and people management:
  • Manage and assist team in developing account strategy
  • Seek opportunities to share learning and coach/mentor team
  • Assist in recruitment and development of staff in line with team and company needs
Communication:
  • Actively listen and communicate openly with clients and internal teams
  • Clearly and persuasively communicate complex issues, internally and externally
  • Clearly and accurately write reports, presentations and proposal documents
  • Deliver client presentations
