Job Title: FMCG Production Supervisor

Our client is a leading cereal manufacturer and importer in East Africa. They seeks to hire a self-
driven Production Supervisor who will offer support to the production manager on production process including but not limited to production planning, procurement, quality control, product development, oversee maintenance of all equipment, be responsible for overall employee health and safety.
FMCG Production Supervisor Key Responsibilities

• Maintain work flow by monitoring steps during the production process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
• Implementing the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries
• Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change
• Training and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
• Carrying out calibrations activities of equipment used
• Run quality checks on the production line
• Preparation and assignment of duties to staff in the production floor
• Ensure that good manufacturing and hygiene practices are followed at all times
• Ensure that the Health and Safety of the workforce is enforced at all times
• Communicate and liaise with Warehouse Supervisor, logistics Manager for the transfer of the goods from production floor to Stores
• To carry out any other duties that may be assigned by the Management from time to time.

Minimum Qualification for the Kenyan FMCG Production Supervisor Job

• Degree in Food Science & Technology
• Minimum 4 years progressive working experience in FMCG firm, preferably in a current supervisory role.
• Experience in lean manufacturing philosophy will be an added advantage.
• Computer literate-working knowledge of MS-Office
• Proven trend of leading initiatives, staff in achieving KPI targets.
• Desire and capacity to become an effective Supervisor, Leader of Staff and to progress
• Capability to prioritize effectively and deal with multiple issues.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with, train and develop staff.
• Commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment
• Commitment to Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures.
• Forthright in ensuring staff follow documented policies and procedures
