Management Accountant

Job Purpose
The position will facilitate consolidation of financial reports in the Group and provide management reports and analysis monthly.
Nature and Scope
Reporting to the Manager Group Finance, the management accountant will consolidate and do
management reports and analysis for the Group. The position will also do the financial and annual reporting for the Group. Consolidation of the Group budgets and provision of analysis and reports for the group budget will also done by this position
Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated management and financial reports  for the Group.
  • Monthly analysis of consolidated financial reports and expense analysis reports.
  • Preparation of management presentations reporting any variances in financial data between actual and approved budgets for management further review.
  • Prepare the Group annual report. 
  • Provide Group financial data on request.   
  • Prepare the all financial statutory returns for the Group and publications.
  • Consolidation of the budgets and prepare the consolidated budget narrative, analytics, and presentations. 
  • Prepare and update monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow projections for the group and ensure accurate cash levels are derived for the purposes of investments.
  • Compile the daily Group’s intended cashflows for the Group management review.
  • Regular review of the group accounting policies and advise the Group on new or amended application if any becomes relevant.
  • Regular review of IFRS’s and application for both current and new projects/initiatives.
  • Champion regular review of IFRS’s and ensuring that all necessary updates are taken consideration by management for adoption.
  • Facilitate audits into the consolidated financials.

Qualifications, Knowledge and  Experience
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent;
  • A qualified accountant (CPA K)
  • Computerized accounting applications such as ERP systems will be an added advantage
  • Computer Literacy in Ms Office Suite of packages.
  • At least 5 years experience in accounting/audit with 2 years experience in consolidation accounting and IFRS reporting.
  • Experience in professional practice is an added advantage.
  • Experience in financial analysis and intelligent reporting
  • Experiencing in budgeting and forecasting.
