Title: Manager: Professional Sales -Lighting Solutions East Africa – Based in Nairobi, Kenya
Reporting Line: General Manager: Lighting Solutions –East Africa
Main Purpose of the role
As Manager: Professional Sales – Lighting Solutions you are responsible forthe business-creation in the area of your professional lighting sales and Developcustomers; and achieve sales growth and maintain long-term relationship withkey customers/distributors. You will be challenged to create the overarchingPLS strategy for your channel and EAregion including the creation of value propositions, product positioning, salesleads generation, go-to-market approach, competitive analysis andidentification of target markets as well as managing global product launchprocess. It’s your challenge to develop and grow the professional lightingbusiness to leading position in EA which will result in increased sales andimproved earnings.
KeyAccountabilities:
Drive & grow the professional lightingsolution segment business within East Africa, with good understanding of marketdemand and the requirements from stakeholders.
Develop customers; and achieve sales growthand maintain long-term relationship with key customers/distributors.
Build and maintain close relations withcustomers including lighting experts, specifiers, consultants, governmentofficials, as a method to explore any potential sales opportunities andstrengthen Philips leadership in the market.
Work with marketing research to analyse anddevelop strategy plan for the assigned segment within East Africa.
Discuss and set annual operating plan forthe segment based on the Strategy Plan.
Manage the product portfolio and developprograms to achieve sales target.
Manage the Pricing activities according tothe Pricing policy, to ensure sufficient profits on assigned segment andmaintain Philips brand index vis-a-vis competitors.
Coordinate with the Africa Product Managersto plan new product development and launches.
Participatein and support the planning and implementing of various activities, such asseminars, new product trainings, lighting club programs, and etc. withinbudget, in order to help the sales growth

CompletedBachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Essential)
5-8 years’ experience in a similar job in B2Bor in the construction industry.
Technical knowledge of electronics and/or thelighting industry.
Customer orientation and ability to bringoutside-in strategy perspectives.
Excellent communication and networkingskills.
Ability to align and effectively lead andengage with cross business and functional teams.
Understanding of and ability to addresscultural diversity and its implication on execution strategy.
Remaining calm under adverse conditions.Superior negotiation and persuasion skills. Demonstrated ability to promote anddefend strategy and execution tactics as well as company’s value propositions,within all levels of the organization.
Fluentin English, verbal and written in addition to local language
