RESEARCH MANAGER – ROLE SIZEO
Reporting to theGroup Head of Marketing PR and Brand. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting, reviewing and monitoring CVP work in Old Mutual Kenya, collecting and interpreting data on industry, customer, competition and other market place related information. With this data and information, he/she then analyse and formulate reports with recommendations based on research findings for business decision making.
The key objectives for this position are: -
Conducting, reviewing and monitoring customer value proposition research and customer profiles in
the group to ensure alignment with business decisions.
Collecting data on consumers, competitors and the marketplace.
Analyze and interpret the data using statistical techniques that converts complex information into comprehensible reports, and making actionable recommendations
Design, select and conduct survey with the most appropriate market research methodology and techniques to gather relevant data and interpret the same for example interviewing, focus groups, questionnaires, market surveys and public opinion polls.
Develops business models by analysing business trends in support of strategy initiatives including but not limited to product development and customer service channels
Constructs financial models in support of strategy process, strategic projects or business case development and conducts viability for the same
Manage all aspects of qualitative and quantitative consumer research regarding product awareness, positioning, and marketing communications impact across the group through business partners
Identify and determine the scope of marketing research needs, including secondary research and research design/implementation
Identify and manage appropriate vendors.
Coordinate group research work i.e. Brand Tracker Research, Savings Investor Monitor and any other as deemed relevant by the business.
Manage the research budget.
Manage research staff.
Any other duties that may be allocated by management from time to time.
Desired Skills and Experience
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
3-4 years marketing research experience required; marketing experience particularly in financial services experience highly valued.
Ability to design and execute multiple research projects simultaneously.
Good working knowledge of analytical and statistical tools to analyse and interpret data, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
Experience in survey design, execution, analysis and other standard research methodologies.
Experience in identifying and managing research vendors.
Must be a strategic thinker with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently on projects in a fast paced environment
Highly motivated, flexible and adaptable nature.
Demonstrate good communication and leadership skills with high personal integrity
Proven analytical skills
Organises time efficiently with the ability to prioritize work on a wide range of deliverables at once
High levels of energy, drive, creativity and innovation
Good business acumen and good understanding of the market
Self-starter who shows initiative and is able to work under minimal supervision
