Job Title:Bookkeeper (Intern)

Busara Center for Behavioral Economics is a research organization that seeks to improve the understanding of how people living in poverty make decisions and to leverage that knowledge to produce better social outcomes.
It enables researchers to conduct rigorous laboratory-based studies in behavioral economics in a developing country and applying the outcomes of research to real-world problems.
The Busara Center for Behavioral Economics is seeking a qualified person for the position of a Book keeper.
As a Book keeper, the responsibilities will include,but are not limited to;
NGO Internship Responsibilities
Reviewing payment requests for compliance with Busara’s Finance policies and procedures.
Verifying imprest returns for zeroing out purposes.
Ensuring proper filling of Busara’s financial records.
Remitting of statutory payments; PAYE, NSSF, NHIF and HELB.
Reviewing and posting entries on the accounting software
Filling in on any additional roles in the event of the Accountant’s absence
Supporting Busara staff to comply and understand the finance policies
Key Requirements of the NGO Internship Opportunity
Required
Diploma/degree in Accounts/Finance from a recognized institution
At least CPA 2
Excellent command of accounting principles
At least 3 month’s experience in accounting or equivalent experience
Good knowledge of Accounting software and Microsoft Office Packages
Ability to work in a team
Attention to details and accuracy
Be of high integrity
