Production Manager, East African Production
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Our Production Manager in East Africa will oversee the delivery of Breakthrough’s projects and
productions in Kenya, Somalia and the region. Their planning, organisational and leadership skills are
second-to-none and they’re confidently able to translate complex schedules and budgets into
beautiful, easy-to-understand spread sheets, call-sheets, security assessments and instructions for
the production and digital teams to follow.
They are the go-to person for all production and digital enquiries, problem solving before, during
and post delivery. They handle all company operational issues on the ground including monitoring
costs, travel, insurances, security, client briefings and reporting to the Head of Production at our
head office in London.
This is a hands-on role, which requires someone who can be assertive with good leadership skills and
the ability to adapt to various scenarios where required.
This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya with the potential of trips to other cities and countries in the
region including the UN/African Union compound in Mogadishu, Somalia. A connection with East
Africa, its culture, languages and history is preferable but not essential.
Salary, relocation and medical package to be negotiated depending on level of experience.
Main Responsibilities
Constantly adapting and redesigning our production plans in a busy, fast-paced media and
communications environment.
Ensuring the highest production management standards are met.
Booking crews, organising travel and writing security assessments.
Working alongside the client team to ensure our projects are delivered in line with
requirements.
Managing all costs across the projects and producing regular cost reports.
Liaising with our Head of Production and accountants in London to ensure the project is on
budget.

Desired Skills and Experience
Skills Required
Proficient at using Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional proof reading and error-finding skills.
Superb organisational skills and good with people.
Experience of working overseas and/or hostile locations within a military environment
preferred.
Excellent attention to detail when handling Cost Managers or Cost Centres, reporting costs
accurately and swiftly.
