NGO Accounting Employment Opportunity in Kenya at Windle Trust Kenya
Position Title: Acccounts Officer (AO) – Kakuma Refugee Camp – 2/14
Contract term: Full-time, 1 year contract with possibility for extension
Background: Windle Trust Kenya (WTK), a member of Windle Trust International Federation, is a non-profit organization with a mission to transform society through education and training. We are working with communities in Dadaab District, Fafi, Wajir South, Turkana West, Dadaab Refugee Camps and Kakuma Refugee Camp one education projects.
Windle Trust Kenya wishes to recruit the position of Accounts Officer for Kakuma operations
NGO Accounts Officer Areas Of Responsibility
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for monthly consolidation of accounts and preparation of quarterly financial reports.
The AO will prepare monthly floats, update financial records and general ledger, prepare payment vouchers and assist in preparation of financial reports.
The AO will ensure clear internal audit trails, external audit support, be involved in budgeting, development of account systems and procedures, safe custody of all financial data and maintenance of fixed assets register.
Qualifications for the accounting job:
A Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Bachelor of Business Administration from a recognized university
A holder of CPA III (K) or ACCA final o Must be a member of a professional body (ICPAK/ACCA) and of good standing
Knowledge of QuickBooks is a must
3 years financial/accounting experience
Must be computer literate
Good interpersonal skills
