We do this through management training, research and consultancy with branches in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kakamega, Kericho, Kisii, Thika, Nyeri, Embu, Machakos, Narok, Meru, Kapsabet, Kabarnet, Naivasha, Nyahururu, Chuka and in Rwanda.
The Institute is seeking to recruit results-oriented and self-driven experienced professionals to join our team in the following positions:
Internal Audit Assistant
The position holder will be reporting to the Manager; Internal Audit. The successful candidate will be expected to review the Institute’s financial reporting systems and policies and confirm that the financial reports are accurate, complete and in accordance with local, national and global audit requirements and standards.
KIM Internal Audit Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the department in carrying out financial, compliance and operational audits for the institute day-to-day activities and controls as per the audit plan.
Examine and analyze accounting and financial records, documents and systems to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and maintain audit paperwork in accordance with standards and requirements.
Test compliance with institute’s policies and procedures.
Assist with all aspects of an audit assignment including: planning and risk assessment, audit test work and documentation.
Recommend controls, process and policy improvements.
Follow up to ensure that approved recommendations are implemented.
Identify and evaluate procedures and policies in tax reporting processes.
Establish working relationships with company’s staff, business partners and clients.
Any other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Business related field.
Pursuing professional certification: CPA part 1 mandatory, ACCA, CISA/CIA certification is an added advantage.
Membership to a professional body will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and any other accounting packages.
2 years ‘relevant experience in a similar position.
