Diakonie Emergency Aid (DKH) – Regional Office Nairobi seeks to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the following position:
Program Manager & Deputy Regional Director – Eastern and Southern Africa
Reporting to the Regional Director
Her/his duties will include to:
Responsible for the daily programmatic support of the Regional Office
Oversee formulation of program proposals and reports
Support DKH staff and partners in Assessments and PDMs
Oversee program Monitoring and Evaluation, ensuring that quality standards are maintained
Evaluate and propose suggestions for new project ideas in the region
Promote capacity building and learning in DKH and in partner organizations
Manage staff at the Regional Office in close collaboration with the Regional Director
Participate in senior management planning and execution
Participate in DKH strategy planning for the Region
Oversee and authorize financial transactions
Responsible for the Regional Office in the absence of the Regional Director
Represent DKH at meetings and coordinate with other Humanitarian Actors in the region
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferably in social sciences such as Community Development, Economics or related field.
At least 7 years of experience in the design and implementation of Humanitarian Programs in the Region
In-depth knowledge of the Program Management Cycle and Program Development
Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports
Knowledge of the ACT Alliance mechanisms and ecumenical organization structures is an added advantage
Strong training & facilitation skills
Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision, pro-active and a good team-player
Proven ability to supervise and coordinate teams
