Job Description: Business Development Manager
Purpose: To generate revenues for the Agency
Relationships
Directly Reports To: Principal Officer
Directly Manages / Supervises
Sales Team members
Customer service officer
Key Outputs / Tasks
To set, monitor and achieve operating plan targets
Source for new business
Servicing of existing clients
Recruiting, developing and maintaining strategic relationships
Training sales team
Market development to increase OIA brand awareness
Product development and market intelligence
Collection of premium as per the policy
To represent the company in cooperate and public related activities
Provide leadership and support to direct reports through training motivation and management of staff
Identify the skills gap for staff and develop individual growth plans
Assist with recruitment placement and development of staff
To spearhead marketing and sales activities
Generate production reports
Target setting and evaluation
Setting performance standards
Manage business risks, resources and expenses
Prepare and manage budgets.
Academic Qualifications
BCom Insurance or Marketing
Professional Qualifications
Insurance diploma / COP
Relevant Work Experience
At least 3 years working experience in sales and marketing within the insurance industry with at least two years as team leader or higher responsibility
Skills/ Knowledge
Excellent communication, training and presentation skills
Training skills
Negotiation skills
Conversant with underwriting procedures
