Sidal Africa Ltd is a unique company pioneering a new approach to livestock and crop input and service delivery in Kenya.
The company provides high quality products and services to farmers and pastoralists across the country. Sidai is developing a national network of branded Livestock ServĂce Centres franchised to qualified professionals.
Sidai brings vital services closer to small-scale farmers and pastoralists, particularly in underserved areas. The goal is to create a sustainable model of service delivery that helps farmers achieve greater profitability.
Sidai has ambitious plans to grow its network from its current network 100 to 200 franchised and branded outlets in the next two years.
We now seek two dynamic professionals who share Sidai’s vision and values to join this exciting and rewarding company.
Commercial Director
This position will report to the Managing Director the Commercial Director will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of the company.
This will include managing the company’s business hubs, new product development and pricing, ensuring optimal stock holdings and stock rationalization, managing distribution costs and ensuring profitability in delivering Sidai’s vision.
Requirements
- A university degree from a recognized university. A post graduate qualification in marketing,finance or business desirable
- Experience in an FMCG industry at a senior level with hands on experience in developing effective route to market strategies, new product development and distributor/depot management skills
- A good understanding of the retail sector
- Demonstrated knowledge of small scale business development and practice in rural set up
- Good analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to motivate teams to deliver against agreed targets
- Experience in developing value chain strategies
- 5 years experience in a senior position in a FMCG company
This position will report to the Commercial Director.
The Product Manager will be responsible for profitably managing the company’s product portfolio.
This will include sourcing and bringing quality products into market; positioning and pricing as well as ensuring the company’s products are quality-assured and well differentiated from competition.
The position holder will be responsible for reporting on profitability per product and category and developing product marketing budgets and plans for various flagship products.
Requirements
- A university degree in a relevant technical subject (veterinary science, agronomy, crop protection etc) from a recognized university.
- Experience and demonstrated successful launch of new products, marketing support and pricing strategy in a retail environment
- Knowledge of the local and global pharmaceutical and agrochemical industry and products
- A good understanding of the registration and legal process of introducing animal health, nutrition or agrochemical products into the regional market
- Must have demonstrated experience in successful product launch in FMCG industry
- Manage the marketing mix to ensure the best use of the product marketing budget
- Initiating and guiding the development of new products to meet the diverse and changing farmer needs
- Good financial analytical skills
