Background and Job Description:

La Vuka Farms is a social business working with rural farmers to improve their production and offer sustainable agripreneur solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and success of the organization. Provide operational and office administrative support to the Executive Director, reconciling internal records, opening and closing accounts, providing back up support for our community (Eggpreneur) Project, monitoring and coordinating records, providing administrative coordination with farm manager and other Operations activities.

The Role and Responsibility Three major areas: Coordination and Supervision, Risks and Financial and Resourcing and Communication
  1. Coordination and Supervision
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various department in the organization.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operations activity, implement and manage operations plans.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation of all internal projects.
  • To work with production team and Eggpreneurs to develop and grow production.
  • To manage production, planning, forecasting, purchasing and stock control.
  1. Risks and Financial
  • Prepare and review financial statement and data.
  • Prepare and control operations budgets.
  • Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of both the organization and Eggpreneurs.
  • Analyzing results and trends, preparing action to leverage the organization strength; addressing areas of opportunity while ensuring the execution of all plans.
  • Assist with bookkeeping/accounting functions as appropriate.
  1. Resourcing and Communication
  • To ensure the organization is well resourced in all areas for maximum operational efficiency.
  • Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and responsibilities. Establish work schedules, monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Communicate with partners, farmers, customers and the general public.
  • To generate reports across the organization and for the community projects.
  • May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administrative and promotion of specific brand, project as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Operations management, Office administration or related discipline.
  • At least CPA I and/or CPA II.
  • Knowledge and at least one year experience in office operation management.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
Key Competences
  • Performance and results driven- takes the initiative to set and achieve challenging work goals
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated good leadership skills with high personal integrity
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) skills with proven ability to communication effectively and write reports.

Compensation
