Our Client’s Mission is to: Educate, empower, elevate, and expand
employment with youth in Africa using the transformational practice of
yoga.
The organisation trains youth and builds the wellness industry so
that youth from marginalized communities earn a self-sustaining income
as community leaders.
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the organisation serves diverse and marginalized communities, through partnership with previously marginalized youth who are now yoga teachers, the organisation currently provides more than 300 free classes per week to more than 6000 community members.

Since it was created, AYP has trained more than 200 yoga teachers in Kenya to serve across Kenya and beyond.
AYP operates on the belief that: If marginalized youth complete AYP
training, which includes leadership, physical, mental, and social
health, and community building, then their incomes, self-efficacy,
health, and positive civic engagement will increase.

Summary: The HRM serves as a credible activist for all members of the organization by demonstrating the ability to be a cultural steward, talent manager, and human resources strategy architect.
The HRM is accountable for managing the delivery of the AYP academy curriculum, which is dedicated to training future leaders in Africa’s wellness industry.

Reports To: Regional Director, Nairobi, Kenya
Summary: The HRM serves as a credible activist for all members of the organization by demonstrating the ability to be a cultural steward, talent manager, and human resources strategy architect.
The HRM is accountable for managing the delivery of the AYP academy curriculum, which is dedicated to training future leaders in Africa’s wellness industry.
The HRM is directly responsible for managing the employee
lifecycle, from administering hiring, training & development,
performance management, attrition and separation processes.

Specific Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities:
- Participates in developing the AYP academy. Ensures the development and documentation of the curriculum for participants in the AYP academy.
- Develops and administers the human resources cycle.
- Employee recruitment, orientation, work planning, performance management, and end of employment processes,
- Policies, training, compensation rules, and payroll systems,
- Benefits, insurance, claims, labour legislation, and employee handbook
- Record keeping: including files, org. charts, performance records, and policies, and
- Full participation in AYP’s core management team.
- Promotes and manages a healthy, respectful environment for AYP that promotes the core values of the organization.
- Recommends new approaches to effect continual improvements in efficiency of human resources and AYP to become a trusted advisor on HR for AYP.

Required Qualifications
- A related degree in HRM and a minimum of five+ years of experience in a Human Resources Management Role, preferably in a NGO environment.
Work Environment: This position will primarily be located at
AYP’s offices in Parklands, Nairobi. This is a full-time position with a
standard Kenyan workweek.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m. and Saturday mornings. This position may require longer hours and
weekend work.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
