Our client, a heavy manufacturing company is seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To implement the procurement strategy within the company to deliver the targeted benefits and financial savings forecasted.
•
Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across
the company and investigate
opportunities for broader savings and
reductions in inventory costs.
• Provide advice, guidance and service
on leading practice procurement solutions to all members in the company
departments & lead the company in identification, assessment and
management of potential risks associated with the different sourcing
strategies.
• To manage key supplier relationships to deliver
breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality, including
technical input on complex jobs.
• Produce regular reports on
supplier performance and provide comprehensive management information
and in-depth analysis when requested including spend analysis, savings
secured and potential savings – for forecast and budgets.
• Administer effective buffer stock systems to ensure that production needs are met at all times.
•
Develop a clear commination channel with production and provide
information on when deliveries are expected and where possible exceed
expectations.
• Working with goods in & production department to
manage stock takes & develop better stock booking in processes to
provide accurate information to the company.
• To ensure that all Purchase Orders are complete and correct and expedite overdue purchase orders.
Requirements
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Business with a bias in procurement
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified preferred
• 5 years in a demanding commercial environment preferably in the manufacturing sector
• Recognized as a procurement professional within the manufacturing industry.
• Significant previous procurement experience in manufacturing environments.
• Experience of leading a procurement department in medium sized business.
• Proven track record in bring in procurement savings with in businesses.
• Significant experience in introducing and developing processes to bring savings
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to apply such skills in all situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a can do attitude.
• Strong influencing skills at senior levels to influence acceptance of a new way of working.
• Excellent team player with excellent people’s skills.
• Ability to negotiate at the highest levels with suppliers.
•
Good IT skills to include wide experience of word documents, Excel
spread-sheets (Including pivot tables and charts) and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills.
