Closing Date: 14 July 2015Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above Temporary Appointment in UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office, Nairobi.

Purpose: Under the overall guidance of the Planning Specialist, the Reports Specialist will support the Regional Office to monitor and quality assure donor and other sectoral reports.
The incumbent will work across sections to support the tracking, preparation and editing of donor reports and is expected to ensure the timely submission of high quality donor report to development partners.Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The Reports Specialist will contribute to and monitor the timeliness and quality of donor reports in the Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office.
Specifically the incumbent will:
Quality assure donor reports using standard quality assurance checklist
Edit donor reports and other sectoral reports
Upload donor reports into the grant management system
Coordinate the production of thematic reports, including Consolidated Emergency Report
Liaise with PFP, Geneva and PPD to clarify reporting obligations and donor requirements
Monitor donor reports in ESA Region and prepare bi-monthly status reports with action points
Provide technical support to country offices in the preparation of donor reports
Collate and synthesize relevant data and information required for programme review, budget analysis, annual report, etc.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies [ ] indicates the level of proficiency required for the job.)

Education: Advanced university degree in communication or other relevant field;Experience:
At least Five (5) years’ experience in the relevant field with specific skills and experience in writing/editing;
Excellent writing and analytical skills;
Proven ability to synthesise and powerfully convey messages and
Good knowledge of development and programme issues, especially with children’ issues and UNICEF’s work;
Language:
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another official UN language an asset.
Knowledge of local working language of the duty station desired.
