Accounts Assistant – Payables
Purpose: Payables manager is obliged to ensure that the company’s financial obligations are adequately met.
He/she holds a key function of compensating vendors for a smooth supply chain flow.
Being one of the major functions, he/she must portray strong leadership skills to his broad team.
Key Objectives
- Maintain accurate, complete and reconciled vendor records by timely posting of invoices and monthly reconciliations.
- Facilitate a seamless supplies flow by ensuring timely supplier payment that fairly matches to cost of sales.
- Ensure stable cash flows by preparation of weekly, monthly & yearly cash outflow plans.
- Achieve optimum staff productivity by implementing monthly performance measures.
- Manage vendor accounts by ensuring a healthy vendor relations at all times
- Ensure all liability is timely and accurately recognized in the books.
- Ensure that supplier’s balances reconcile to the company books at all times.
- Schedule and Facilitate vendor payments and remittance advises
- Ensure all goods returned to vendors are timely and adequately recovered
- Ensure all company financial commitments are planned for and conveniently met
- Facilitate a smooth supply chain by ensuring timely payments for purchases.
- Ensure the company enjoys sufficient supplier’s credit by negotiating the optimum terms with vendors.
- Maintain a close match between bills payable and inventory position at all times.
- Minimizing adverse cash flow exposures by maintaining minimal prepayments.
- Maintaining a proper HQ petty-cash imprest system.
- Participate in preparation of weekly, monthly and yearly cash flows plans
- Monitoring and advising the management on critical liabilities by way of monthly Aging analysis.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned by Management
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management/Business Administration
- Professional Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K) and a member of ICPAK
- Experience:
- 5-8 years in a similar capacity
- Strong computing skills (MS-Office)
- Familiar with basic accounting packages
- Knowledge of daily accounting and strong internal controls
