Job Title: Business Development / Marketing Manager

Reports To: Managing Director

Industry: Real Estate / Property Management

Supervises: Managing Director
Job Purpose: Our client, an upcoming property development company is seeking to recruit a Business Development / Marketing Manager to develop strategies with the goal of maximizing the firm’s profits or share of the market while ensuring the company’s customers are satisfied.
The ideal candidate will secure the company’s market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
He should be willing to grow with the company.

Key Accountabilities

The position holder will have the following accountabilities;

  • Locates potential business deals by contacting potential customers; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Proactively initiate and engage sales calls to new prospects
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Identify and attend tradeshows and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business, and to market full organization services
  • Design and execute pre-agreed strategies built around developing new business growth
  • Drive “Request for quote” process with new prospects
  • Open business development dialogs with strategic customers.
  • Interface with existing strategic customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance and growth.
  • Define and follow up of yearly targets and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies for new services
  • Determine new opportunities by analyzing business needs
  • Develop and deliver the business plans through carrying out research, formulate
  • market analysis and deliver accurate business reports
  • Pro-actively hunt for target organizations and establish communications with those businesses that can benefit from our Organization’s services
  • Build referral and lead generation network Plan, lead, promote and manage the operation to achieve set objectives, budgets and Business plan.
  • Prepare and implement procedures, guidelines and standards for the operation
  • Ensures strategic operational improvements.
  • Develops and recommends programs to meet client’s needs.
  • Prepares proposals with the General Manager that are geared to maximize profit.
  • Assists in the development of annual sales goals
  • Assists in the completion of monthly targets
  • Conducts market analysis to determine needs, potential, desired rates, etc.
  • Prepare monthly operational reports and necessary documentation.
  • Works with the General Manager and advertising agencies on preparing necessary collateral material and marketing tools.
  • Prepare and introduce marketing plans and marketing budgets.
  • Maintains proper flow of information within the leasing, sales, facilities and other departments.
  • Liaises with Real Estate Agents.
  • Attends exhibitions related to the industry.
Key Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/ Sales or relevant qualification
  • Work Experience
  • Minimum five [5] years of Business Development/ Sales experience, preferably with relevant experience in the Real Estate/Property Management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office / internet use i.e. Digital Marketing
  • Experience in marketing of plots or other similar products
  • Good knowledge of marketing strategy including communication channels management
  • Experience in business development and added advantage

Conditions
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Be ready to travel as the work shall entail travelling especially in Lamu, Mombasa, Kilifi, South Coast Tanariver etc
  • Ready to work beyond normal working hours when necessary
  • Ready to work from our offices in Nairobi and Lamu Counties
  • Must be of good health and sound mind
  • Aged between 25 and 45 years male
N.B:- Knowledge of the coastal region is an added advantage
