Communications Intern at PATH NGO, Kenya

We are seeking to engage two interns in the Communications and Advocacy team. Being a capacity development position, the interns will be offered a mentored opportunity to discover their skills and capabilities as well as contribute to the Communications and media team.

The position calls for one who is ready, willing to learn, share experiences and grow professionally. Specifically the Communication and Media Intern will be expected to support the Communications and Media team in discharging their mandate which includes:
Communication Internships Responsibilities
  • Update the PATH web-page.
  • Organize the PATH digital photo library.
  • Organize and manage the PATH Resource Center.
  • Writing, designing and editing the PATH publications.
  • Be an active environmental rights crusader on health.
  • Support the digital media activity on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
  • Document and record (audio- visual and still photography) activities by PATH and its partners.
  • Support the communication activities and engagements by any of the PATH partners and projects.
Required Skills for Communication Skills in Kenya
  • Aptitude for quick learning.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong organizational skills, high level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong command of computer packages especially those used in website management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting, proofreading, and editing documents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision and with a wide range of collaborators.
Required Experience
  • A degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field, experience in development of web page and web management, experience and interest in project management and operations.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
