Member, Kisumu County Policing Authority
Pursuant to section 41(1)(e) of the National Police Service Act, 2011, the Kisumu County Public Service Board invites applications from competent and qualified persons to serve as Members of the County Policing Authority representing the following categories:
The business community – 1 position
Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) – 1 position
Women – 1 position
Persons with special needs – 1 position
Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs) – 1 position
Youth – 1 position
Functions of the County Policing Authority
- Developing proposals or priorities, objectives and targets for police performance in the county
- Monitoring trends and patterns of crime in the county, including those with a specific impact on women and children
- Promoting community policing in the county
- Monitoring progress and achievement of set targets
- Providing financial oversight of the budget of the county police
- Providing feedback on the police service’s performance at the county level
- Providing a platform through which the public participates on all aspects of county policy and the National Police Service at county level
- Facilitating public participation on county policing policy
- Ensuring policing accountability to the public
- Receiving reports from community policing forums and committees
- Ensuring compliance with the National Policing Standards
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Minimum of KCSE level of education or equivalent
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
- Should not have been declared bankrupt
- Be of good character and moral standing
- Should not have been convicted of a felony
- Is a resident of, or has worked in Kisumu County for a continuous period of not less than three (3) years
- Has not been removed from office for contravention of the Constitution or any other law
- Has not, in the conduct of his/her affairs, contravened any statutory obligations
Remuneration: Members will be paid allowances

Applications must include an application letter indicating the applicant’s representative category, sub-county and ward, a copy of a valid national identification card or other document, Curriculum Vitae, and copies of academic certificates and testimonials.
The application should be submitted in a sealed envelope with the REPRESENTATIVE’S CATEGORY CLEARLY MARKED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ENVELOPE, to reach the undersigned on or before 17th July,2015 at 4pm.
