The County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified Kenyans to fill the following positions in the Ministry of Health:
1. County Director of Health
Job Group “R”

Duties and Responsibilities
- An officer at this level will be answerable to the County Chief Officer Health for all technical and administrative services of the department.
- Specific duties will be:
- Effective coordination of activities of the Health Technical services;
- Oversee the formulation and implementation of Health policies and strategic health programmes in the County;
- Identify impediments and constraints to the implementation of Policies and programmes; and
- Management of the training function in liaison with other Health training institutions and planning, development, utilization and management of Human resource.
For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a holder of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB. ChB) degree from a recognized university;
- Be a holder of a Master of Medicine (M.Med) or Public Health from a recognized institution;
- Be registered with the Kenya Medical and Dentist Board;
- Have experience of at least 5 years in a senior management position in a busy Referral hospital, County or National level;
- Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution by availing the following: Certificate of Good Conduct, Tax compliance certificate form KRA, Clearance from EACC and Clearance from HELB; and
- Be computer literate

Duties and Responsibilities
- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows:
- Offer quality nursing services to patients/clients in health facilities and community;
- Ensure adequate supply of health commodities and proper use;
- Prompt submission of monthly reports to the relevant authorities;
- Responds appropriately to emergencies and disaster services; and
- Coordinating nursing services.
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Diploma holder in Community health nursing from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized Institution;
- Be ready to be deployed to any part of Bungoma County;
- Adhere to the nursing ethics;
- Be ready to work with other health team members;
- Be registered/licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya; and
- Be computer literate

- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows:
- Offer promotive health services;
- Offer preventive health services; and
- Carry out Public Health Inspections.
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Diploma holder in Public Health from a recognized and relevant institution; and
- Be computer literate

Duties and Responsibilities
- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows:
- Performing and interpreting relevant laboratory tests; and
- Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
- Documenting and receiving samples for analysis; preparing laboratory reagents;
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Diploma holder in medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution;
- Be registered by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists & Technicians Board (KMLTB)
- Be computer literate; and
- Adhere to the Code of Regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows: An officer at this level will be a member of a health team addressing the psychosocial effects as related to patient’s diagnosis, prognosis and future resettlement, and counseling of patients especially in cases associated with pandemic diseases, mental illness, HIV/Aids, epilepsy e.t.c.
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Diploma holder in Community Development and Counseling;
- Have Good Public Relations; and
- Be ready to carry out field work.

- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows:
- Offer quality nursing services to patients and clients;
- Coordinates nursing services;
- Ensures proper use of supplies; and
- Prompt submission of reports.
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Certificate holder in Enrolled Community Health Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognized Institution;
- Be enrolled by a regulatory body of Kenya (Nursing Council of Kenya); and
- Be computer literate
Job Group “G”

Duties and Responsibilities
- The duties and responsibilities at this level will be as follows:
- Proper applications of rehabilitative services;
- Application and removal of plaster and traction;
- Recording of procedure carried out on patients;
- Counseling patients;
- Ordering plaster and other Supplies: and
- Assisting in planning and organizing orthopedic care.
- For appointment to this grade one MUST:
- Be a Certificate holder in Plaster technician; and
- Be registered by a regulatory body.
