The Ideal candidate is responsible for providing strategic leadership in designing, developing and maintaining information and communication systems so as to meet company’s business objectives.
The ICT Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive and affordable insurance solutions and must at all time keep abreast with the latest ICT technology to ensure customer satisfaction and to
improve and develop all elements of the business as a whole.
He/ She will be reporting to the General Manager and Principle Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring smooth operation of the central systems, the office automation environment and communication infrastructure
- Responsible for implementation of the ICT strategic plan in support of the company’s corporate plans and business plans.
- Determine the most effective and efficient ways of implementing technology based solutions to support the stated requirements of the various departments.
- Identify opportunities for the application of technology to assist the various departments achieve their objectives
- Ensuring the security and integrity of the systems and equipment at all times
- Liaison with the service providers and users of company supported information on ICT matters
- Formulating and implementing of the company ICT policies.
- The ICT Manager is in charge of the departmental budget
- Ensuring that the periodic performance appraisals of the members of staff in the department are carried out in a timely manner.
- Developing and maintaining an enterprise wide business recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of ICT services in the event of a disaster
- Ensuring that enterprise information systems operate according to internal standards, external accrediting agency and legal requirements.
- Negotiating service level agreements with vendors and monitoring ICT systems performance to ensure service standards are consistently met.
- Responsible for ensuring databases run effectively through capacity management and performance tuning of oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Optimizing the database architecture for specific databases and data marts and documents through modeling, leveraging knowledge and core database to provide detailed core data models maintaining in Oracle Systems.
- Responsible for building, adding, Modifying and deleting database objects.
- Proactive Monitoring of database spaces to ensure appropriate allocations as environment grows.
- Consults with team members on data analysis, Campaigns and reporting projects.
- University degree in Information Technology
- Diploma in systems Design
- Certificate or diploma in project management is an added advantage
- At least 5 years relevant working experience in a busy ICT department preferably in financial services or insurance, 3 of which should be in management.
- Experience in implementing and supporting of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) application system is a requirement
- Candidates with experience with turnquest Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) will have an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of the Insurance Industry.
- Must possess leadership qualities
- Knowledge of good management practices
- Good knowledge of IRA, KRA, AKI regulations and country laws
- Good Ms Office Knowledge
