Context/Scope:

EABL is the leading Drinks Company in Eastern Africa with a wide portfolio of products in various categories of beer, spirits, glass, barley, malt and other non-alcoholic drinks. EABL is quoted in all the three East African Stock exchanges and has operations across East Africa

Purpose of role:
To act as a challenging business partner to the supply and Logistics department; anticipating business requirements and providing analytics ensuring sound value creating solutions.
To deliver against the strategic intent as it relates to embedding financial analysis in Supply and logistics

Market Complexity:
  • The role will have functional line responsibility to the Financial Planning and Reporting Manager, and is a business partner to the Supply and Logistics function generating robust financial evaluation of all manufacturing processes and inventory management.
  • However as part of a small team there is a high degree of self-sufficiency required in the role with direct accountability to help deliver initiatives for various stakeholders.
Top Accountabilities:
  • Coordination of Monthly and Annual Stock Counts across all Stock Categories and locations. Own financial implications of stock variances
  • Support the business strategy through monitoring and improvement in cost efficiencies
  • Main finance partner for the Logistics team and be responsible for tracking and reporting of distribution costs
  • Preparation of Excise Duty Returns Schedules from Production For Beer & Spirits and Duty payments calculations from sales
  • Inventory management – Review of Stock Provisions and stock valuation
  • Provide Supply Insights on financial performance

Manage growth, engagement levels & Performance review of direct reports

Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate qualified accountant or MBA. Chartered Accountant qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge in IAS 2 and application of inventory controls
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Financial Modeling skills
