Supply Chain Manager

The incumbent will report to the Operations Manager, and will oversee the planning, management, and coordination of all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, and the eventual disposal of finished goods.

Job Duties
  • Managing and executing procurement related functions, such as developing and implementing contract management and procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements, drafting and managing contracts
  • Ensuring supply chain practices are in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations or laws
  • Ensuring proper coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas such as sales, marketing, finance production and quality assurance
  • Building and maintaining positive business relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders so that the entire supply chain works in a cooperative way
  • Defining performance metrics for measurement, comparison and evaluation of supply chain factors, such as product costs or quality
  • Building and sustaining positive formal relationships with customers, and understanding and meeting their needs accordingly
  • Planning delivery timetables, devising effective transportation routes and methods, and ensuring products arrive at scheduled destinations
  • Participate in the development of the company’s supply chain strategy
  • Offering best practices recommendations to management
  • Leading the supply chain team
  • Assumes any other duty in line with the profession, and as management may require
Qualifications, Skills and Essential Attributes
  • A bachelors’ degree in procurement, supply chain management or other relevant field
  • A relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage / membership to professional bodies
  • Exceptional computer skills plus familiarity with relevant software
  • Ten years experience with at least five being at managerial level
  • Good knowledge of distribution systems and best practices
  • Strong written / oral communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional negotiation and customer handling skills
  • Conversant with the procurement law
  • High levels of confidentiality and integrity
  • Knowledge of French language will be a plus
