Amec Foster Wheeler Jobs Vacancy in Kenya : Quality Assurance Manager

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the role of Quality Assurance Manager which is a key personnel and technical leadership position within the currently advertised USAID East Africa Regional Construction Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity contract (IDIQ), for which Amec Foster Wheelerwill be competing. The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager position will be full time, based in Nairobi, Kenya and will include periodic short-term travel across the East Africa region to provide program and project support activities and support meetings with USAID and host nation stakeholders.

The IDIQ will be implemented over five years, based out of Nairobi, Kenya and with support from Amec Foster Wheeler’s South Africa, US and UK home offices. The objective of this contract is to provide USAID in the East Africa region with a full range of technical assistance, physical support and construction services to achieve objectives that will contribute to the completion of construction and rehabilitation in technical assistance programs such as agriculture, health, water supply, sanitation, trade, energy, economic development and natural resources. This includes design-build construction services and construction management.

Key Responsibilities
The QA Manager will be responsible for all quality control on work performed under the IDIQ
Responsible for implementing and maintaining Amec Foster Wheeler’s Quality Control Program
The QA Manager will report to the IDIQ Lead Program Manager who will also be based in Nairobi
  • A Bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following engineering fields Civil, Construction or Industrial or Environmental
  • At least 10 years of experience conducting quality control on construction projects, setting site standards, serving as the individual that changes or improves performance / quality on site, monitoring performance, and working with operating staff to establish procedures and standards for the project;
  • At least 5 years experience working overseas
  • Prior experience working in Africa preferably East Africa is desirable
