ACCA Job Vacancy in Kenya : Education Development Officer

Job description


We are currently recruiting for an Education Development Officer to join the team in Kenya on a permanent basis.

As Education Development Officer you will be responsible for supporting the Education Development Manager in ensuring the development and implementation of education services for the broad range of ACCA tuition providers including universities, the approved learning partners, employers training ACCA and FIA students as well as ensuring that ACCA is recognised as part of national education and qualification frameworks in Kenya.

This is an exciting and challenging role which will offer you plenty of variety. Among your key responsibilities will be:

Marketing & Communications

Supporting with profiling ACCA Kenya’s professional accounting education initiatives and products in national newspapers and ACCA publications
Communicating updates of developments in Education and Professional Development to students and learning providers
Working with Education Development Manager to organise and manage student-related events such as Prize Giving Ceremonies, in collaboration with tuition providers
Producing targeted marketing campaigns to promote the ACCA and FIA qualifications in schools, colleges, universities through outreach activities
Undertaking a range of tuition provider events including student presentations in order to raise the profile of ACCA and increase student enrolments

Managing the relationship with ACCA Learning Partners
Supporting the Education Development Manager with managing and developing relationships with tuition providers, including identifying tuition opportunities, supporting existing providers and monitoring tuition activity Identify student recruitment trends, issues and barriers
Working with the Education Development Manager to develop and deliver innovations to raise teaching standards, including assessment methodology and means of monitoring learning partners
Raising the profile of ACCA with increased student enrolment through learning provider led events and delivering student presentations
Providing advice and guidance to educational organisations wanting to obtain ACCA exemptions for their qualifications
Supporting the Education Development Manager to ensure that ACCA learning providers in Kenya are equipped with the necessary products and skills knowledge and information, and to develop new tuition related toolkits to support services for ACCA tuition providers and other stakeholders of the education sector in Kenya

Student support, conversion and retention
Managing students towards conversion, including assistance/guidance on matters relating to the practical experience requirement
Working with the Business Development Officer to support employers on improvements to workplace learning support and to develop the competence of ACCA students and members
Carrying out exam centre visits to check that exams are being held in adequate conditions and work with the British Council to ensure the availability of exam centres

Administrative duties
Undertaking any administrative tasks allocated by the Education Development Manager
Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrable experience working within the a marketing / administrative role
  • Proven experience of preparing and delivering presentations to high level stakeholders in a confident, mature manner and comfortable with public speaking
  • Proven experience of building effective long term relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to build the ACCA brand, sell the qualification and add value to our business
  • Practical experience of managing projects, preferably within an educational or training environment
  • Practical experience in data collection and analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen interest and knowledge of educational issues and developments in Kenya and worldwide
  • Knowledge of the ACCA qualifications including Foundations in Accountancy (FiA) is desirable
  • Excellent team player and willingness to help other team members of the ACCA Kenya team should the need arise
  • Excellent computer proficiency including skills in database management
