Vacancy: Project Manager – Moi International Airport Rehabilitation Project
Kenya Airports Authority is seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager in-charge of Pavement Rehabilitation Works at Moi International Airport (MIA) Mombasa.
The candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision and delivery of the project.

Job Purpose: The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, executing, and finalizing the project according to strict deadlines and within budget.
This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver the project according to plan.
The Project Manager will also implement the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Reports to: General Manager Projects & Engineering Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the implementation of the strategic objectives of the project.
- Direct the delivery of the rehabilitation of aircraft pavements at MIA and ensure the project is delivered within the available resources, and that it is completed within time, cost, quality, risk, scope and project objectives, initiating corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure appropriate phasing of the works with minimal interference to aircraft operations
- Act as the liaison person with all the stakeholders and other external parties, consultants, contractors, donors, financiers and statutory agents.
- Lead and motivate the project management team to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives by interfacing with existing airport operators and facilitating resolution of any operational challenges.
- Review contract documents relating to the project to ensure accuracy, quality & completeness and bring any discrepancies to the attention of all the concerned parties.
- Prepare and advise on budgets, seek approval & impart controls at all stages of the project to meet project budget.
- Review the project plans and specifications and advise on the designs, scheduling, cost saving measures and potential construction challenges.
- Coordinate site safety and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act other aviation safety guidelines are enforced.
- Prepare regular financial reports, Risk reports, Progress reports, Environmental Health and Safety reports and Project Completion reports.
- And maintain records
- Excellent knowledge in project management principles and techniques
- Thorough knowledge of resource planning methods
- Understanding of the financial planning process
- Ability to work in an intense working environment
- Self-motivated, independent solution-oriented, deadline driven individual with strong time management skills
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and strategic thinker
- Very good negotiation and communication skills
- University Degree in Architecture, Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Masters degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in infrastructural project management 10 of which must have been as Project Manager/Resident Engineer
- Must have supervised a project of similar size
- Project Management Certification
- Computer literate with experience in ERP systems will be an added advantage;
