Job purpose
Ensures consistent, diversified and optimal investment strategies are applied individually to BUs and across the Group
Key responsibilities
- Ensure consistent, diversified and optimal investment strategies are applied individually to BUs and across the Group
- Assist with developing optimal investment strategies for listed assets across the group to maximise risk-adjusted returns
- Review portfolio risks mitigation summary
- Oversee private equity and property investment decisions
- Monitor and assist the executive team with optimal capital allocation across BUs and business lines
- Monitors the performance and operations of non-controlling shareholdings
- Ensures fair treatment of investment customers and adherence to delegation of authority, client mandates and investor policy statements
- Chairs the Management Investment Committee
- Develop investment policy and guidelines in line with strategic objective of the company
- Oversees development of and adherence to the group’s investment house view
- Develop and monitors adherence to the group’s ALM policy
- Assist the CEO Asset Management with developing specialist investment talent (e.g. Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Managers)
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

- Internal Relationships:
- The Group Chief Investments Officer will be:
- Accountable to the Director, Finance and Strategy
- Directly responsible for the Investment Analyst
- Required to liaise and work closely with the other Department Heads and Unit Managers as may be necessary
- Required to develop and maintain working relationships with appropriate external parties including Capital Markets Authority
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
- At least 10 - 12 years’ experience in a similar position 6 years of which should be in a management position
- Fully qualified accountant with Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)/Chartered Accountant (CA)/CFA/CISA through KASNEB
