Accountant Job in Nairobi Kenya -June 2015
Job Summary
World Aid Network practices principles of transformational development to empower local churches in the United States and around the world so they can serve the vulnerable in their communities. With initiatives in education, health, child development, agriculture, food security, anti-trafficking, immigrant services, micro-enterprise, disaster response and refugee resettlement, we work holistically with the local church to stand for the sick, the widow, the orphan, the alien, the displaced, the devastated, the marginalized, and the disenfranchised.
We seek to employ The Accountant who will be responsible for the day to day administration and financial support of the organization in our Nairobi, Kenya Office.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Makes sure that World Aid Network’s policies as well as regulations are strictly followed.
o In charge of the development, documentation and implementation of appropriate revenue policies, accounting and control procedures;
o Ensuring revenue from various financiers and funding are properly recorded and accounted for in accordance with funding agreements;
o Ensuring timely production of periodical management reports showing budget versus actual and analysis by various cost
o The role holder will ensure that all funding reports are prepared and submitted in accordance to funding agreements;
o Responsible for the development of appropriate chart of accounts.
o Ensuring maintenance of a clear audit trail of all revenue data processed in the accounting systems;
o Producing and sending periodic financial reports, reviewing and submitting them to users in a timely manner;
Educational Requirements:
o The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management and Accounting, Bsc. commerce or Business administration from a recognized university or ACCA/ CPA level III.
o A minimum of two or more years working experience preferably in an NGO setting.
Remunerations:
Gross salary: USD 3760 – USD 3920 per month depending on skills and level of relevant experience.
